I have been trying to work on this HGSS fic I started and, as usual, am stuck. Since I write in a weird way I have the ending and the begining/possible middle. I might turn the latter into it's own work and leave the former as a little drabble, but I don't know for now. I am posting the ending as I really like it and just want a bit of feedback. This is, as usual, not Beta'd so please ignore my mistakes or even be nice and point them out gently.
The sound of children laughing wafted into the window along with the cool breeze from outdoors. As she kept her eyes closed, rubbing her hand through his soft hair, she tried to concentrate on her fantasy. The way his beard rubbed along her bosom as Severus buried his head between her breasts was all she focused on, content with this simplicity. Her dream world of just the two of them was broken by pounding upon the bedroom door.
“Mum!” she heard a child’s voice bellow. “Artie’s gone and stolen my potions kit again!”
“No I didn’t,” she could hear a voice respond. “Evvie’s got it and she said you can stuff that whining up your nose for all she cares.”
“Boys!” she reprimanded loudly, making sure to take the one-way silencing charm off the door beforehand. “I’ll be out there in a minute and I expect to find you playing nicely, do you understand?”
“Yes mum,” came her small chorus, followed by scampering footsteps.
Severus sighed from his prone position on the bed, is head having not moved one inch from between her breasts. His next words were muffled and mostly felt than heard, but she could still understand his speech. “Sometimes I contemplate abandoning the triplets upon Molly Weasley’s doorstep, but then I’m pretty sure she would return them shortly. I don’t know how she managed to produce seven children when we can’t even have more than five minutes alone with just the three.”
Hermione looked down at her husband sympathetically and stated, “Maybe a second honeymoon would be in order?”
The reply, “That’s how we wound up with the first set”, was drowned out by the sound of a small uproar in a distant part of the house. Sighing as she knew she would have to break up the scuffle shortly before Evelyn ‘Evvie’ Snape, fisticuffs champ of the household, managed to overpower her two brothers and give them a thorough thrashing, she removed her husband and shifted to the edge of the bed. Small moments like this were rare in this household and she wished to savor it without the taint of parenting.
“I’ll break it up,” she said over her shoulder to Severus, who had started snoring lightly as he dozed. She felt the small smile formed on her face as she gazed at her husband’s back, feeling warmth and contentment flood her once again. She sighed as she heard an almighty crash, hurriedly donning her clothes and rushing out the door to save her house from the children of Severus Snape.
