Welcome. I wrote it rather off the cuff as soon as I heard. I thought it was in the right sort of spirit. How are you by the by?

I'm ok, you?
I'm in Austin about to fly to Tokyo in two weeks, which I'm psyched about. What have you been up to?

Music. Rehearsing, recording, trying to come up with a design for artwork. That and writing poems/poetis for my thesis. Nothing as exciting as Austin or Tokyo. But still, I enjoy it.

what are you writing your thesis on?
I've never heard your music you should send me some. I recorded some weird noise/dance project with a friend of mine a few weeks ago it was hilarious.

My thesis is actually, essentially, a book of my own poetry and a statement of my own views on poetics. So it's highly personalized, which I like. I feel like I'm getting to contribute something rather than analyzing and reinterpreting other people's opinions (though, to some degree, that's inevitable).

My music is sort of ecclectic and all over the place. Not in any weird or experimental way. I just like write lots of different stuff. I don't have any of my jazz/noise project or my blues project recorded. But, you can check out www.myspace.com/matthewlandis. That's the stuff I gig with most frequently.
