Wyclef madness
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated in like forever but college life is busy as you all know. So, last night we had the major Midd concert of the year and Wyclef Jean came to Kenyon Arena. I'd never seen him before or even heard much of his music, but of course I had to go because, well, how could I miss it? We pre-blazed in one of my friend's suites and went over the the arena around 8:30, there was a pretty good opening reggae act and wyclef started around 10ish. He's actually really really good, and it didnt matter that I didnt know his music because he played a bunch of cover songs, like No Woman No Cry and Jump Around. I was up near the front with my friend Claire and practically got flattened several times, and actually at one Wyclef sat on his body-gaurd's shoulders and came out onto the floor, and his body-gaurd stepped on my foot. People were crowd-surfing and this one girl was sitting on someone's shoulders completely topless!! haha. And this other girl in my Portuguese class threw her bra onstage, so Wyclef had her go up and dance with him. At the end he played this like 20 minute-long Carnaval samba music and all the guys took their shirts off and were swinging them around in the air, so the whole thing went on probably until about 12 something cause he did two encores.
Then after the concert I went back to the Atwater dorms with my friends Liz, Amanda, her boyfriend Evan, and his friend Eric because there was supposed to be an afterparty there, but nothing was really going on. So Eric and Liz and I decide to drive to the Marriot because Wyclef said during the concert, "whatever happens at the Marriot, stays at the Marriot." We get there and there are about 20 midd kids standing around him in the lobby because he's apparently looking for a party on campus, so Eric goes up to him and is like, "yo dude, you can come back to Townhouse D if you want." And he's like, sure! so he gets in his limo with his body-gaurd and some girls and they follow our car back to campus and we go to Eric's apartment, with a mass of students following of course, and Wycelf busts out some shroom lollypops and weed and people are trying to take pictures with him, and he just chills for awhile. Eric was pretty much freakin out at this point because he's a huge fan of Wyclef - I guess they stayed there until around 3:30 and then took off to go who knows where, and I left at 4 to go to sleep. But god, what a crazy night!! A little excitement for Middkids to party with a hip-hop star. Isn't he coming to Williams next weekend Rach. have fun! He's actually really talented and puts on a great show. hehehe
