It's been so long!
Seeing as work is crawling at the moment, I think I can take some time to update on stuff.
Hi!!!!!
I can't say that there is too much that has happened between the last post and now, but I can bring about a few cool things. The holidays so far have been amazing, lots of food, lots of leftovers.. all gone within 3 days. Immediately afterward I was preparing to DJ a private party at the Firehouse Grill in Fairfax City, which turned out to be a great success! I had a wide range of compliments from, "you should try to get gigs in DC" to (overheard by me-- partygoer to organizer): "This guy is great.. did you guys hire him?" .. It was certainly a HUGE ego boost! I can't take all the credit though, my good friend Adam (DJ Chin) helped out immensely and Osama provided the powered amp and PA speakers. Not everything went so smoothly as I got tons of requests from extremely beautiful ladies that I could not fulfill. I'm still low on music, but thats an easy problem to solve now. I am convinced I really need to start getting gigs for real now (and real $$). I've already ordered some business cards from vista printing, which I should be getting anytime soon now. Next step is just to get the word out, and practice practice practice!
Which brings me to my next order of business: Once I finally have the time to sit down and jam again, I will be making new mix! It's going to be the first of a series of mixes I will do which will mostly be hiphop with a little bit of this and that.. whatever I feel like. This first mix will be a "tribute to the Oldskool", covering hiphop/rap from 1986-1991. I should also mention it's a tribute to DJ Shadow's original KMEL mixes from 1991 which are some of my favorites. Not sure when I'm going to post it, but I'm guessing between now and the end of the year.
Also, I need to finish one of my LAST comics. I'm saying last since I don't really have the time or motivation to keep continuing them. I have also grownup quite a bit and feel like some of my comics are just blatantly offensive even though I don't mean for them to be that way.. they might seem like that in somebody else's eye. I don't know, I certainly don't have the wacky potheaded comedic antics I used to have when I was 19-20. Right now my main focus is music.
I'm hoping to move to North Arlington around spring 2008, It'd be a refreshing change to move closer to the city. I think that's it for now..
