A season of flying things
aeroplanes defying gravity
birds flinging sugar in sound
winged insects reenacting space battles
in this country venue
from past futuristic blockbusters
carcinogenic smoke unfurls
from my brothers' unspoken lungs
sprinkler water arcs
finding epochs, falling
to tickle green grass in slick kissing
my eyesight shoots through space
sounds are flung, perfect
square into my ears
the sunlight bends around me
bends around my chair, my beer
my planet makes paths
like the rubber strings in a tennis ball
around the life-giving dynamo
we fly (about 98,000 feet per second)
i'm flying 98,000 feet per second
Do you believe you can fly?
