Headcanon:
- is not sure what exactly happened to his mother. All Ryuuken has told him was that she was gone. He's not sure if this means she's dead or if she left them.
- his first memory is the screams of Hollows. It's one of the reasons he's never been able to give up being a Quincy.
- is rather embarrassed about the scar on his chest, although it serves a double purpose. It reminds him of his greatest failure, but it's a reminder of what he will go through in order to protect those who either cannot or need help protecting themselves.
- He embroiders Quincy crosses on his underwear. Especially the pairs he made himself.
- Despite early claims to the contrary, he doesn't hate all Shinigami. He gets along perfectly with Renji and Rukia, for instance, and has been shown to get along with various others he's interacted with. If there's anyone he truly does hate, however, it's the Captain of the Twelfth Division, for using his Grandfather's very instance of how the Quincy could alliance themselves with the Shinigami against him. And then experimenting on his Grandfather's soul.
- If he was forced to, the people he would list as being the closest to would be Kurosaki Ichigo, Inoue Orihime, Sado Yasatora, Kuchiki Rukia and Abarai Renji.
- The people who have had the greatest impact on his life, whether he chooses to acknowledge it or not, are his Sensei, his father and Ichigo.
