Dr. Kaplan was concerned that Ovarian may not be the primary source of her tumor, so on Friday she gets her GI scoped. My fear is that if there is more going on than initially assessed that things are at a much more advanced stage. Perhaps months instead of years. Mostly, I find it all so frustrating - how she's isolated herself for decades and lost all interest in her past talents and hobbies. How can I find things to make her happy or look forward to doing? How can I help her focus on the life she has left instead of dying?

I guess no sense worrying until we know more. Her goals with the physical therapist are to regain her independence and possibly move back into her house. But I still may do some research on assisted living/hospice/whatever. Is there a difference? I know nothing about these things. My father went quickly (aneurysm) so I didn't have to manage any long-term care.
