My readign list continues -
The Price of Salt, by Patricia Highsmith. A reminder that it's wonderful to read good writing. It was her second book, her first being Strangers on a Train that was optioned by Hitchcock already.
Oh, and the library has the box sets of
Blakes 7, so I borrowed season 1 and season 2 to start with. I can then get seasons 3 & 4. Started watching it on Sunday morning and it's of the vaguely familiar variety but no blinding flash of recognition. I know that I watched it back in the day (1978), and hadn't a foggiest clue or memory of what it was about - presumeably 7 peeps including Blake!! Yes there are some cheesy settings & SFX but it's entertaining enough to continue. I realy like the Decimas, they remind me of one of the Tribes in Papua New Guinea - who cover themselves in clay. (or at least still were in the 70s).
I caught up on my weeks ration of knitting. The only way i'll finish my scarf is to set a daily quota of rows. 8 which is the pattern repeat. I've spent the past 2 sunday's playing catch up, but that's ok cos at least it'll get done. It needs to be simple enough to pick up & put down on the bus home, but not so simple that I'll never finish. I get bored even with a more complicated repeat once I've done a babies beanie, let alone a jumper or scarf.
and buttons - I spent a while looking for buttons for my shirt. In the end some metal were the best, have got a picture but haven't got the card & card reader with me at the library. D'oh. must use brain.
