blethering for the sake of it.

cos, it's a distraction from the interview late on Thursday.

What does everyone else do as interview nerves distraction?  The madwoman starts sewing a new shirt to wear.    The train of thought goes this way, need a jacket, even if not worn.  Don't have jacket for summer ... turtleing my way through making one but it's a long way off.  So what do I have. Burgundy crepe that makes me feel dumpy (yep, it does). And my 10 year old chocolate brown wool gaberdine that's fraying around the cuffs, and doesn't quite fit. But we can carry it!  So, I have the pin stripey chocolate skirt. That pink linen shirt is the dead one, and the new pink linen (not!) shirt is some blend of scritchety and hence uncomfortable.

So I found 2 pieces of cotton in pale pink that goes with the skirt and started on a new shirt yesterday.  I was on track to almost finishing it last night, when I impatiently let the iron spit dirty water on the centre front. gahhh, so I washed it out, no stains phew, and had to set it aside to dry. Hence stalemate.  I'll get it done after tonight's movie and tomorrow morning.

Why am I worried about it ... that it might be too pale a shade of pink ie too close to flesh toned. Possibly attractive on a svelte young thing. Less so on a stout matronly figure.

Oh, and I completely forgot to mention that I didn't do a dress rehearsal of my regency bits n pieces.  So when I was getting dressed at work, I had more chemise on display than could possibly be allowed.  I had to put my bra over the chemise to get it to stay in place ... which is what stays would have done.

Hmm, obsessing that I'll have to fork out proper money to get an ironing press, anything to make jackets easier.
