found: second piece of fabric
Now that it's redundant for this project and using it would add more work that I don't have time for I found the 2nd piece of this fabric. {sigh} It was already upstairs, just hiding under the pile of clean laundry I hadn't put away. Serves me right for not sticking with my new year resolution to not leave clean laundry piled up for more than 24 hours.
The undercoat went on the stick OK, and tonight I get to do the first coat of green. I'll do a really light first coat, and another really light coat tomorrow morning. That should be enough and will give it 48 hours to cure before I head to the airport. I also need to get a hacksaw too, to cut off the lowest section.
I had half the robe's skirt pleated (pinned to the ironing board) and this morning realised the pleats are facing the wrong direction. {foreheaddesk}. Oh well, it could be worse, at least they're not sewn down yet.
Must remember to make the muff! Note to self: find wadding for the inside.
