I ordered a costume book!

Apr 01, 2011 11:14

I'm being a total spendthrift for someone who hasn't worked more than 6.5 hours on any day this week (and I'm a paid by the hour casual).

Not only have I ordered a NA3 discworld convention t-shirt but I ordered a "Go Petunias" T cos someone's put one on Zazzle & the NA3 merch is also through Zazzle. I figured the combined post was a deal to snaffle up.

AND I decided that I was an April Fool and pre-ordered a book from my wishlist cos Amazon.com has it for cheaps. Or at least it was for cheaps at 1am this morning.  Even with the higher  8-16 day delivery charge it came to $US40 and sadly the Book Depository is still around the $60 price.  It ships a week later from Amazon than BD, but I'll take the savings.

d'oh, just realised I haven't mentioned which book ....

ta-dahhh, Napoleon & the Empire of fashion  which is a pre-order, publishing date 4th April 2011, though shipping from the US is the 12th or so, thus not arriving before JAFA.

That leaves my current wishlisty books as:
~ Fashioning-Fashion European Dress in Detail, 1700 - 1915
~~ Nancy Bradfield's Costume in Detail
~ Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 4
~ Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 3
~ High Style: Masterworks from the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection
