Saturday Movie (#44): I've Loved You So Long

Dec 22, 2008 15:05

After C stayed Friday night & was woken up by my bronchitic coughing on Saturday, I headed off to get my hair cut & she to practise her typing (literally).  Made it to the Dr's for their 9am opening (yes I'll get up that early for my haircutter) and we then had brunch & checked our emails/etc.

We both felt like seeing a movie and so went to see a lunchtime screening of I've Loved You So Long.   There's not a lot I can say without giving away the plot, but Kristen Scott Thomas absolutely deserves her Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Juliette Fontaine - who arrives to live with her younger sister Lea after being shunned/disowned by her family for 15 years.

She's the only actor in the film that I'm familiar with, and part of a great cast.  They were all convincing and credible.

This was worth full price!
