DF-C and I caught up over a movie & lunch on Sunday, and our cinema du jour was Eagle Eye. We got our $8 entertainment, though at one point her mind drifted from the film and I'd found myself thinking "this is definitely the 2nd Shia LaBeouf film I've seen this year. Has there been more?? "
Although not my idea of beefcake, he's believeable in his role.
Well, this is the juggernaut school of action. Keep it rolling so that you don't have too much time to stop and think if it makes sense. And this clearly doesn't.
What took someone so long to physically take out Aria the 'puter? Can you fall into liquid nitrogen and be OK ... I'm assuming the coolant pool was nitrogen cos they referred to Aria as having that as the coolant. What sort of freaking makeover did they give themselves for the instruction "change your appearance" erm, no they DID NOT. At least not in my book. A shave would have been more transformative (for him not her).
DF-C had so suspended reality she didn't even recall why Aria was running the assassination scenario.
For me the sticking point of credibility, Shia's arm in a sling at Billy Bob Thornton's funeral .... see how I have zero recall as to the character's names! He got shot at least 3 times in the body and his arm is in a sling?? WTF He'd still have been in hospital. And his dear old dad & him seem reconciled, as IF.
Lip reading from security camera footage? :snickers: Given that often the people are barely recognisable on the footage I've seen and how tricky lip reading really is, well yeah sure that's utterly credible. As credible as their transformation.
So given all my scoffing, how on earth do I think I got entertainment value, but I do. Maybe it was cos I caught up with a good friend and the sun was shining.
