Project Updates Form
Project name: A-Kon Panic

Progress: I have the ruffles for the underskirt cut and hemmed, and I have drafted one of the patterns, and part one of the lining/mock-up is done. I'm saying I am at about the 15% mark. Gave up on first bodice, am now tracing out the shirring lines on the new one. Best thing, MY RUFFLING FOOT HAS SURFACED! That shaved like 3 hours off the project. Am now at about 20% on this dress.

Problems encountered that halted progress: I HATE MY PATTERN! I don't know what kind of crazy short torso people McCall's is making their patterns for, but I'm sure not one of them, I had to add over 4 inches to the bodice just to make it long enough, my draft also fits me really weird. I also have less then 48 hours to get things finished. And if I change the strawberry dress like I am thinking about doing I have to drive half an hour tomorrow to buy more lace. My ruffling foot is still AWOL. I hate doing shirring channels, I don't think I have enough lace. And my very large gray cat thinks that my black fabric is a great place to nap while I'm trying to work.

Ways considered to solve the problem: Redraft the pattern, or the winning option at the moment is to just do a fully shirred bodice instead of a fitted one. Have the mama show me how to do weighted ruffles, or make her do it for me. Not sleep for the next 2 days. Throw the cat outside. Buy more lace in different town, or use different lace on headwear.

Questions for the community:Is it possible to pause time so I can get things finished?
