Project Title : Lolita-inspired baby OP
Short Project Description: One of my friends has a baby girl, and I have been meaning to make her something for a long time. I have some leftover strawberry fabric that should be plenty to make an outfit for a 8 month-old babygirl. I'm thinking I'm going to make a matching bonnet for it too.
Projected Deadline: By new year's
Pattern(s) Used: None, I'm eyeballing it
Materials needed: Strawberry print skirt, elastic for shirring, matching lace, soft silky lining, interfacing
Challenges or obstacles : I must be very careful because babies must be confortable and safe before looking fabulous! that's why I'm using this fabric, which is soft. Normally, I think most people can do without lining, but I think This one really needs some lining, specially if it will be shirred. I'm going to sew elastic thread onto the fabric rather than inserting thick elastic between the outer and inner layers because I don't want to make it constricting, yet I want it to be a generous size so that she doesn't grow out of it too quickly.
It will be fun once it's done and we can dress up to match!
