EDIT: I just added the cut. In my rage state I completely forgot to put one.
Update:
Project Name: Ensemble de Fluers JSK
Progress: was at 50%... back down to 20%. I had the underskirt tucked, ruffled, seamed, and petti'd and the top skirt made
Problems encountered that halted progress: I had originally meant for this set to have a cream/off-white base with light blue as the accent. I bought my fabric from Shabby Fabrics (link:
http://www.shabbyfabrics.com/Wildflowers-750-B-by-Rachel-Ashwell-for-Treasures-by-Shabby-Chic-P13556.aspx?categoryid=50 ) and the description said "off-white". Well, as it turns out, they must be comparing "off-white" to blinding "snow white" because the "off-white" is brighter than the brightest white sold in Kona Cottons at Hobby Lobby. ಠ_ರೃ let the rage ensue....
Ways considered to solve the problem: I went to Hobby Lobby and bought all new materials in white. I have to redo about 6 yards of hand ruffles for the bottom of the skirt and about 2 yards for the detail. I also have to redo the 4 channels of pintucks I did on a 44" long skirt panel. And I still need it done before the 12th. Shoot me in the head.... So now I have my underskirt pieces(all but the petticoat) cut out and waiting to be zigzagged and sewn.
The comparison of SF's "off-white" and actual "off-white" Not a great picture of the contrast, but it's pretty much white over cream, and I don't think it looked good, as did my boyfriend, my grandmother, my friends...
What I had completed. Ruffles, Pintucks, and a Full Length Built-In Petticoat with a slight Bustle part in the back.
I am so aggravated.
Project Registration:
Project Title: Rococo Chiffon Blouse in White
Short Projects Description: A chiffon blouse with elbow length sleeves and lace & ruffle detail
Project Deadline: July 12th
Patterns Used: NewLook E6078 with a modified neckline and collar
Challenges: Working with chiffon. I already made this blouse once before, but seeing as how I have to change my color palette last minute this has to change too. Also, I need to track down more rose lace... and a secret for working with chiffon. I'll be doing this last. If I have to wear the cream chiffon blouse I will, but I really need to get the JSK down first.
