Project Title : Alphonse Mucha JSK, SK, and possibly an OP
Short Project Description: I'm in the process of creating 3 different Alphonse Mucha prints, each with multiple color ways. When I can afford to get the fabric printed I'll make some JSKs and skirts and a few super drapey chiffon blouses to go with them.
Projected Deadline: September? I hope to debut one of them at a convention.
Pattern(s) Used: None
Materials needed: Spoonflower Sateen, lace, thread that my sewing machine won't reject in a haughty rage.
Challenges or obstacles : These prints are taking forever to make. I've been using photoshop longer than I've been sewing but never for something that was supposed to be neat and repeat in a pattern. The original file is like 9835482 mb and is slowing down my computer, but I don't have the guts to delete layers that I may need later.
Hello! Me again, posting a teaser of the "top secret prints" I mentioned in my last post.
I love JetJ painting dresses, but there were some problems, namely the price and the fact that THERE IS NO ALPHONSE MUCHA. I am possibly the biggest Alphonse Mucha fan in existence (We even have the same middle name. It's fate.)
So I decided to try print-making.
So far I like the ivory and light pink. I made the blue and bordeaux on a whim but I'm not sure I want to spend $80 for fabric on each of them because the background kind of overwhelms Mucha's art. =/ We'll see when I get a test swatch.
I have the first of the three prints pretty much done, but haven't given much thought to design yet, so I'm posting here. Any design suggestions for a JSK while I wait for the test swatch to come in the mail? XD
I'll update this post when I have the designs and fabric finalized so I don't spam this comm too much. When I'm finished with everything (in 4 months?) I'll post a huge project dump.
