Introduction and Project Registration

Name: Caitlin
Location: South Florida
Years of Experience: Years? How about two Halloween costumes?
Equipment of Choice: My mom’s old sewing machine. Not sure what kind it
is.
Specialties: Patience.
Things I know I could help you with: Not much. I would say gathering,
but that falls under the ‘patience’ thing again.
Style(s) of choice: Not sure yet. Still trying to find my own niche. But
I’m going casual, mostly.
How did you get into sewing Lolita?: When I went on to Angelic Pretty
for the first time and swooned over a Jsk, and then looked at the price. Plus,
I’m too big for most brand names anyway.

Project Title: Musical Skirt and Bow
Short Project Description: A simple skirt made from some pretty fabric
with music notes on it I found at Joann’s, and a hair bow to match.
Project Deadline: Not really one. :\ Hmm, how about July 6th?
Pattern(s) used: Butterick 5041 for the skirt (I’m shortening it), and
I’m winging it on the bow.
Materials Needed: Zipper, fabric, headband. Hot glue for the headband.
Not much.
Challenges or obstacles: Never really sewn a whole lot before. And I’ve
pretty much blown all my money on this, so I’m poor. But that’s not really an
obstacle to making the skirt, unless I run out of fabric or screw up royally.
(knock on wood)
