Hi, all! I made a new costume for the larp I play in. I was hoping I could get some feedback on the outfit, and any suggestions for changes/ improvments. I've put details and pics ( behind the cut. )
I've played Nero WAR (West Virgina and Ohio) a couple times, as well as Wildlands West (Nero offshoot in Louisville, KY). I think everyone would like to see your costumes, girlie or no!
The mask probably won't survive - these pics were from a one-shot event, and I ended up with a caracter who was from a culture who wears them... they normally drive me crazy :) I just grabbed the one from the extra costuming pieces box that was the closest to matching.
It might survive, though... that culture gets some great advantages for a magic-user, and this outfit really says "mage" to me (I normally play a straight-up fighter type, but I saw the outfit as it was comming together, and it really just didn't feel fighter-ish :) )
Thanks for the suggestion, though... I agree, it seems like it needs a little something... more.
Just my character... this isn't a re-enactment larp, it's a fantasy one, with a rennaisance feel; plus, this was a one-day event, and I didn't get my character until about ten minutes before we started playing, so I didn't delve into a rich backstory!
Thanks, I was worried the sleeves were going to be too big and get in the way, but they didn't!
Definitely put the closures in next time while wearing it; shoulders and posture aren't nearly as symmetrical as we might wish. Assorted Notions had a small discussion of adjusting shoulder and back fitting this morning, actually.
It looks like there's some extra fabric in the top sleeves, too - that'll probably be easier to avoid next time 'round :)
I love dramatic costumes. You've revealed no discernible errors in the photos, you know. ;-) And for installing closures without wearing them myself, I usually go top-down, so the tops are always lined up evenly.

I'm with RGG's game Bloodlines in Lexington, KY (although I play at a few other places, too, this is my main game).

www.nerolarp.com I should post some of the things I've made, but my character isn't very "girlie". LOL

Top-down... that's probably a better method - I went all down the right side, then all up the left side.
