I am sorry for being out of touch lately. My past week has been made of YAY and hence, very distracting. ♥
First off: the boy made me a game! 8D
It's based off of Pokémon and largely text-based, but instead of enslaving monsters you build/buy robot minions and sic them on other people's robots, as well as on the people themselves.
In addition to coding/writing it as per his specialty, he drew all of the graphics and recorded all of the music himself. I almost choked from laughing because the theme for obtaining a new robot is him singing the Katamari theme with his voice recorded and overlayed multiple times. >XD
This game is like... the most awesome awesome thing in the whole world, plus the sweetest nicest thing anyone has ever done for me and I really do have to spam about it. ♥ ♥ ♥
I AM PROBABLY GOING TO SPAM YOU WITH PIX OR SOMETHING LATER, BE WARNED.
Also, while I was at his place on Friday, he threw a LAN party and a bunch of his friends came over to play games. This mostly consisted of me sucking balls at Star Wars: Jedi Outcast, lacking the energy for Diablo II and being passable at Unreal Tournament, but all his friends are very good sports and so MUCH FUN was had regardless.
Aside from that, we marathoned Buffy/Angel, I became addicted to
TrackMania (OMG U GUYS THE LATEST VERSION IS FREE), and he even took me out to fly a crappy little kite that we bought from the nearby supermarket because it was windy and I ♥ kites.
The ONLY drawback to my happiness right now is that he will be going on a sort of self-imposed retreat to his family's cabin in the middle of the woods for the next month, where he is far away and has no phone reception and no internet. :'(
This isn't like a religious abstinence retreat or anything, just to relax and focus his energy for a bit.
I am almost certainly going up to visit him on the 24th - 27th, but THAT IS NOT SOON ENOUGH ARGH.
But I'll most certainly live. Now I can be getting back to the resume building / job searching with little distraction. hooray for optimism!
ETA: While I was gone, my brother moved to San Diego for pre-college training. (He will be starting his first year at UCSD soon. He has to be down there before school starts because he's on the swim team.) Likely won't be seeing him til Thanksgiving, but I'm thinking I will give him a call/text and wish him good luck. C:
He gets to miss the ordeal that is our sister's birthday this year, haha.
ETA2: I made the discovery today that my dad has accounts on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, as well as other communities that I would actually expect from him. This is apparently because he likes to keep on top of how internet communities work. I don't know if it's work or a hobby or both, but it amuses me, especially since I have done my utmost to steer well clear of all three.
Then again, he has also read Harry Potter more times than me. Hee.
ETA3: The cat keeps scratching and mewing at my door. She misses my brother really badly. D:
