Kyou arc came out today~ Or rather, a subbed version of it came out today on animethunder.com, which happens to be the only site I check for new subbed anime because I'm a lazy bum like that. Anyways.
I loved Kyou. She and Tomoyo were the only reason I watched Clannad at all. So even though I'm miffed that a boring character like Nagisa got all the screentime, yaaay, my favorite characters got their own OVAs. So it's all good.
Tomoyo's arc was really fun in a depressing way and that half an hour was so much more interesting than all the Nagisa sceens combined. /bias
Moving on, I've always adored the whole parallelism thing between the two sisters. Although I guess it's not so much parallelism as it is Ryou being an extension of Kyou who is much more open about her feelings. We get that right away when the OVA opens up with a shot of Kyou who starts "I...." and then we move to Ryou standing in front of Tomoya who finishes the line: "I've always liked you!" She blabbers a bit because she's annoying like that and then says that even though he probably doesn't like her in the same way, "It's painful to not say it." And even though Ryou is talking about herself, everyone's suddenly b'awww-ing for Kyou because she's the one who is keeping her feelings inside the most and feeling the most pain.
Ryou does it again when she talks about how happy she is after Tomoya accepts her confession. She's all "I'm so happy *cry cry* I'm so hapy...." while we get a shot of Kyou even more depressed with her head on the table (and her hair sexily spilling over her shoulders. No homo). I wonder if it's my bias talking, but the whole opening scene was so DDD= Kyou~ ;_; And then my streamed video, which told me it had 23 minutes suddenly stopped and I can't watch the rest of my episode. And I can't find the subbed episode anywhere else online. What is this bullshit. >=O
So instead I watched Umineko. I hate the opening theme song. I don't even know what it's supposed to be; fake opera? I miss the Higurashi theme song. It was so beautiful and the whole contrast of innocence and gore was beautiful.
But hey, we start off with some lulzy overdramatic Faust old man screaming about "BI-AT-TU-RI-SU!!!!!!" who apparently, is a "Golden Witch" with whom he made a contract with. Uuuum..... >.> I see this is what C.C. was doing before she met Mao. And what is this, dying her hair blonde? IT'S AN OUTRAGE.
And did I just catch Battler (what kind of name is that?) describing hs average-looking cousin as fabulous? And did he just attempt to grab his cousin's tits? =OOOO WHAT IS WITH THIS ANIME. ARE YOU SURE IT'S A DETECTIVE SUSPENSE THINGY THAT TAKES ITSELF SERIOUSLY?!
Also, I think there's an ant infestation in my apartment and I'm pissed because I have to be killing ants and washing them down the sink every five minutes.
