OMG OMG OMG TYTANIA

CODE GEASS, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HEART; IT ONLY HAS ENOUGH ROOM FOR ONE ANIME AND TYTANIA IS TAKING OVER.

Okay, so a bullet point, sort of organized, and sort of calm and professional list of reasons why it's awesome and just thoughts in general:

-When it begins and we see TYTANIA in big letters just floating in front of a black backdrop... Was I the only one who thought "LOL, Star Wars"? Even though I never watched even one of the movies completely, and should probably get around to it some time this century.

-An opera theme song to a space opera... LOL. I can't really judge how good it is though, since I have a natural bias against opera-ish things. They're too slow and "holy fuck; you can stretch out a single word for two minutes?" for me. Except for Schubert's Erlkonig. That was awesome and creepy (which may or may not be because he stole Goethe's poem for the lyrics).
But it does set a very interesting tone for the series, as opera pieces are usually seen as powerful and emotional songs. There's also this sense of "the good old days", which is doubly interesting since this takes place in space.

-I heard Kerberos Galaxy, and my first reaction was "Card Captors?" I fail so much. ;_; But god, I loved that show as a kid.

-Starting off with a battle? Nice.

-The animation. It's beautiful. I also really, really, really love the way that the ships look like they're pushing against a barrier as they exit out of the wormhole thing, and sort of stumble a bit once they break through from the extra force. I almost want to say that's cute, but...I don't think that's the term to use when describing a ship.

-I WAITED FOR YOU, CLOVIS. Actually, no I didn't. And by the way.... Did the guys over at Bandai Ent. ever figure out that their wonky poll was a result of 4chan? I feel so bad for them, wondering what the American audience saw in Clovis and Rivalz.....

-Did the Duke Ariabrat guy (the blonde one with the....dangly bang) just say he wanted to take over Liptia right after his butler told him they had awesome tea leaves? LOL. That's worse than Napoleon's 'CAUSE I WANNA reason for trying to take over a giant frozen wasteland.

-I sense some sibling rivalry... Idris didn't look so pleased when the white-hair-guy praised Juslan for his accurate observation.

-What a weak and timid looking king... I realize he's only supposed to be a figurehead, but geez, a bit of a three-dimensional personality would be appreciated.

-The king's advisor is named Salomon (Solomon?). Wasn't King Solomon an all around nice guy and fair ruler? And he dies, so.... Should I assume that Tytania=evil tyrants?

-I like Juslan. He would negotiate one last time before "blowing them into oblviion." People who have power but refuse to abuse it are awesome. (Like Alexander the Great <3) And he's also not a pretentious ass who's always certain of victory. So even more love for him.

-The ED sort of confirms our protagonist for us. But at the same time, I feel like Juslun has been given so much character (compared to the other Tytania characters)... Perhaps another joint-protagonist style is in order? Hmm. Well, I don't mind the Fan whatever-his-name-is guy, but I'd much rather Juslun be the hero. I wanna see him revolt against his family and heritage and everything he's learn since birth! Because a common man rising to hero is too cliched; fiction is prejudiced against the nobility. D=

Also, some other anime I'm watching (no, my life does not revolve around Tytania. Yet.)

-Early and Fairy. I see so many bishies, but I just can't stand this. The heroine is bland, and the hero is a typical Edward Cullen -- OMG OMG OMG, ISN'T HE SO HOT AND THE EPITOME OF PERFECTION?!?!?! LOVE HIM, GIRLS, AND PAY ME GOOD MONEY TO DRAW HIM. So, no. I like my tragic heroes with true flaws very much, thank you. <3

-Kannagi episode 2. I still don't quite understand the dance sequence OP, which is definitely not as awesome as the Hare Hare Yukai. Also...the dancing seems very reminiscent of the style in Macross Frontier, which I hear was influenced by some chick in the 80s.... Frontier, being a tribute to a classic anime, is excuse. But WTF, get with the times, Kannagi. I don't necessarily want to see Nagi pole dancing, but....Soulja Boy would be nice. XD

I should actually be spending my time doing homework, and getting a good night's sleep because I have the PPSATs tomorrow (practice Practice SAT, LOL. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing as the PSATs, but it's just that my school makes sophomores take them too even though it doesn't count for anything). I hear that you can win scholarships if you get a really good score on it, but I'm Asian and we're probably exempt from scholarships since the government really doesn't have enough money to go around handing to every other Asian high schooler (no, I'm not racist. I hate everyone equally).

kannagi, anime, tytania
