Of course, when I say old anime, I mean three years ago. Stuff like Gundam Wing is ancient, and Astro Boy is from before time. I love being young and ignorant.
Anyways, I was watching more of Eureka Seven. The shape of the Gekko-Go frightens me. To put it mildly. For anyone who doesn't know/remember, here's a picture:
Now, someone please tell me which idiot decided "Hm, we need a strong, sturdy, and fast mothership. I know, let's make an airship shaped like a goose!" I just don't understand the thought process behind the ship's design at all. I understand form over function. I understand function over form. But why would anyone make something that has neither form nor function?
When we first see the Gekko-Go launch, I was piss scared. It has a long, inflexible neck that connects the bridge with the engine that was begging to be shot at. Why is it even there? Can't they cut it out and just connect the head to the body? The whole time while the thing was rolling along on the runway, with two wheels under the head and two under the body, I was half expecting the neck to just split in the middle and fall down like a lousy bridge. Seriously. Now, I think I've gotten used to it. But still. Also, the wings are backwards.
In other news, I don't like Renton. He's whiny and dense. And cheesy. "At that moment, all I could think of was how to keep that smile on Eureka's face." Ew, no, shut up; if I wanted a pathetic romance, I'd go read Twilight.
