Teaching went okay today. It was my first day of being "in charge" and nothing catastrophic happened, so... yay? I mostly just rambled on and on about my expectations for the class, the rules I'm establishing for the rest of the year, and warning them about things that piss me off. It was all generally well-received. Even got some laughs out of 'em which, I must stress, is nigh impossible with my first period bunch. Good lord.
My seniors got very excited when I told them about the next novel we're reading. "It's called Brave New World. It's about sex, drugs, and... cloning babies."

The drive home was a little insane. A car right in front of me spun out on the freeway and was facing the wrong direction when it stopped. It didn't look like they hit anything though, just hurriedly turned around and got off at the next exit, most likely to change pants. Parts of the road were a little flooded and I could barely see the road from all the mist. I love the rain, but man I hate driving in it.
