Lots of stuff happened in the past weeks in my life. For one, there was the whole exam phase shebang, which I aced! :D Woot! Adv. Translation: 1,0. Adv. Essay Writing-Cultural Studies: 1,3. Introduction to German Literary Studies: 1,7. 9/11 Narrative: ___ pending, but a v v good feeling. :D
*booty shake*
Then, I found a room! :D And, while it's not as near to my faculty as my room is now, it's two little alleys and about three minutes per pedes away from my best friend here in Cologne. Which is brilliant. Also, it's even more in the city center. :D
Here:
It's a room in a flat that I'll share with another girl, Anne, 22, and her two pussycats. It's a room in an Altbau/period building, so that means that the ceailing is way up and I have lots of space on my walls. 3,24m high, folks. 10,5ft or so. Awesome.
Today I'll drive up to IKEA with said friend to buy a bed for her and stuff, and I'll be checking out the things I chose online for my new dwellings. Yeah. IKEA is always fun.
As I signed the sublet contract me and my soon-to-be flatmate took the exact measurements of the room.
4,80m x 3m = 14,4m² // 15,7ft x 9,8ft = 155ft²/17,2yard² feet and yard measurements confuzzle me...
Then I made a little grid thing in Photoshop. After that I went crazy. See:
B = bed / flower / bench
PAX = IKEA cupboard
Kgr = big commode
L = lamp
C = chair
Right now, lots of working space is more important to me than a big bed (nvmd that I sleep like a foetus, legs tucked up and everything) so I chose to expand my 150x120 desk to a 190x240 desk-o-rama. :D
The brown things are LACK shelves, mounted up at 2,40m round half the room.
See. Crazy.
But it was also way fun to do this 'sketch'. Aah, the female basic pleasure of nesting. xD Seriously, the male friends that got to see this pic called me crazay, the girls though wanted to own it. ;)
My new cupboard. I fell in love with the slid-y doors and the huge mirror.
No. No cuts. Tell me what you think of my design. Hopp!
