Sometimes, it's rare, but sumetimes I follow a rec to FF.net. And, what do you know, the story is actually good.* Then I search for others like it.
The mistake I made was staying at ff.net. I found two similar ones, but they were WIPs and, gosh, golly, my oh my, really bad.
Then I stumbled over this:
