Wednesday Reading Meme

What I Just Finished Reading: Only one book this week! I had a few days where I didn't read at all and another couple where I only managed a chapter. Now I can't even remember why, because I certainly wasn't busy with work last week. *shrugs* I read UnDivided by Neal Shusterman. Review below.

What I'm Reading Right Now: I'm currently loving the fourth book in the Shady Hollow series, Twilight Falls by Juneau Black.

What I'm Planning to Read Next: I'm sticking with trying to clear up my last few prompts, and to that end I have five more books listed at Give Me Five for someone to pick one for me. If nothing is picked by the end of the day I'll read Reprieve by James Han Mattson while I wait.

89. UnDivided by Neal Shusterman

The final book in the series finds our characters working individually to find a way to end unwinding once and for all.

I am actually divided (heh) on this book. I did end up giving it four stars even though I had some issues. The first was in the pacing of the book. Not only were the characters split apart (there were five main storylines taking place at different locations) but there were also waaaay too many POVs. I counted 17 point of view characters. That meant that most chapters were quite short and lacked depth. I also felt that there were some shocking moments that super impressed and surprised me which were then walked back in subsequent chapters, which basically ruined the whole effect.

So it sounds like I disliked the book, but honestly I did enjoy it. It came to a satisfying conclusion, and even featured the return of a character I really liked from a previous book. Things were tied up nicely, there were some sufficiently creepy bits, and I can’t really want more than that.
