End of Year Wrap-Up for Books and 101 Things
Since we're all starting fresh and new tomorrow, I thought I'd post today and wrap up where I'm at on my reading and 101 challenges.

My goal this year was to read 125 books. I actually read 167 books this year with a total of 49.827 pages, and my average rating was 3.7.
I also read 347 days out of the 365 days last year, only missing 18 days. Woot woot!

166. Take Your Breath Away by Linwood Barclay
Six years ago, Andrew’s wife Brie disappeared and he was presumed guilty of her murder by the police. Never arrested, he changed his name and moved on. Now a woman who looks just like her has been spotted, raising questions and putting lives in jeopardy. I really enjoyed this twisty thriller. At some point I suspected everyone except for the kid who would have been 10 years old at the time, and I wasn’t too sure about him, either. The suspect pool is so large because there’s so many little ins and outs and connections, and the conclusion came as a big surprise.

Lost Challenges Pyramid of Books - Task 11 - read 10 books that take place in a city (11/11) - this subtask complete
167.The Drop by Dennis Lehane
This short novel packs a big punch. Set in a gritty, realistic Boston of seedy bars and neighborhoods gone to pot, Bob is a lonely bartender who finds an abused puppy in the trash. With the help of a new friend he begins the process of socializing and training the dog, falling in love with little Rocco in the process, and changing the trajectory of his life. There are gangsters, underhanded dealings, and Rocco’s creepy original owner, all tied into Bob’s past and present. Bob is an amazing character and the book is a real page-turner. I also loved the ending and could relate to it SO much.
