Well, I've also stayed on track with my work goals. I don't have cable, but online on a couple of websites I am able to watch my reality shows the next day: The Challenge USA (which I am starting to call Challenge Lite - but Tyson from Survivor is killin' it), MasterChef USA, and American Ninja Warrior. I'm also still watching MasterChef AU Season 13 when I can squeeze in an episode, and Snowpiercer and final episode of The Boys are both still in my queue. Aaaaaand OMG I SAW A COMMERCIAL THAT SOMEONE POSTED FOR THE NEW SEASON OF THE BLOCK UK. I am soooooo excited for that. And and and apparently the latest season of Australian Ninja Warrior *already started*. Unfortunately, the website where I get my UK, AU, and NZ TV fixes has has a notice up that they are offline for maintenance for the past few days, and now I am biting my nails wanting to get on there!
Today I also walked 1K to the library to get my books that came in, and then took the bus to the end of the line and then walked the 2K to the cemetery. Despite the heat waves that we've had, I guess the spits and spots of rain were enough because only one of the flowers was dead since my last visit. I cleaned out a couple of weeds and doused the flowers in water, then walked the 2K back to the bus stop. It was hot but there was a nice breeze so it wasn't bad actually until I got on the bus and then I started to feel sick. I get motion sickness sometimes anyway and it's always worse in the heat. Ugh.
Anyway. Two more good books!
67.Paw and Order by Spencer Quinn
Instead of returning home to Arizona after their adventures in the Louisiana bayou, Bernie and Chet detour to DC to visit Suzie, where they become embroiled in a mystery involving sleeper cells and a Presidential candidate. Much like the previous book, the mystery itself is pretty muddled and I don’t have a clue why the victim was murdered… but I really don’t care, because also much like the previous book, Chet’s POV makes for a rollicking good time. Quinn is SO good at filtering the day’s events through Chet’s eyes that I kind of don’t care if I get the details of the case right, I just want to know that in the end we’re gonna get the perp by the pants leg and he’s gonna be wearing an orange jumpsuit and breaking rocks in the hot sun!

68. A Day Like This by Kelley McNeil
Annie is happily married to Graham, and she gave up a promising art career to devote herself to their daughter Hannah. Then, while taking Hannah to a doctor’s appointment during a storm, she gets into a car accident. When she awakens, she’s a successful artist living in Soho, separated from Graham… and they never had a daughter. This was a spellbinding, hard-to-put-down story that kept me up until 3am because I had to know how it was going to turn out! Is Annie imagining another life because of a brain injury in the accident? Is this a Berenstein/Berenstain Bears style dimensional time slip? Do her family and friends know more than they’re telling? I suspected everyone and bounced back and forth between various scenarios, and the ending did not disappoint.
