In regard to Rick: Two things. First, there was no council for Rick to go to. Carol was part of the council. Glenn and Sasha were sick. Daryl was on a run. Hershel was in isolation. Rick was IT. Second, everyone and their dog (minus Daryl) had been on Rick's back to stop being a farmer and step up and retake the leadership mantle. Even Carol wanted him to do this. So… he did. He made the call. It just wasn't a call she liked. But she can't have it both ways.

One thing that really struck me when Rick told her his decision, was that Carol looked shocked and hurt and said, "Rick, it's me." I read that as a sort of I'm your friend, we've been through so much together, you KNOW me, how can you do this?. And I can't help imagining Carol going into that isolation cell and Karen and David completely trusting her so their guard is completely down, and then Carol overpowering David and killing him, and then approaching Karen with her bloody knife and Karen backing away slowly, hurt and sick, and saying, "Carol, it's me."

(I've always had a good imagination. :)

Having said ALL THAT (whew, longer than I thought)… I'd like to reiterate that I always enjoy discussion, I respect your opinion, and I never take a difference of opinion personally! I get very passionate about the shows I love and as such have very strong opinions on them. But I can heartily disagree with your take and still think that you personally are awesome.

Also, we've probably exhausted all discussion -- on these points at least! -- and will just end up repeating ourselves, so don't feel you have to respond. I just wanted to address those couple of things, like I said. :)

Next week -- same bat time, same bat channel? ;)

Heh, darn you TWD, even on this we can't agree.
See I always saw the QaF B/M vs B/J thing as more of an overflow from those who watched the UK version first.

The Carol thing is because honestly I'd likely have done the same thing. Well maybe not burned them and all, but I'm a pull the plug type of gal. When I got cancer I wrote up a living will and put a DNR in place. I didn't see K & D as having the flu. I saw them as deathly ill and the others quarantining them with the expectation that they would likely die. So if they are already going to die, why prolong it and risk infecting the group. As for no remorse, I think there was some and I think that was part of her frustration in her knocking over the water. Not only was her choice a tough decision, but it didn't even stop the virus.

As for the contrast between her and Carl, I think Rick had a choice. They're in a prison. Lock her in a cell until the other return, go into quarantine and talk to Hershel. Rick gets to have 50-11 break downs and come back. That was not the 1 thing he gets to decide on his own. Rick's wishy washiness is why I think he sucks as a leader. I get people look up to him, but he should never have final or completely solo leadership/ruling power.

But all this is not gonna matter because as certain as I was that Tyreese had the baby, unless I hear Melissa is leaving the show, the writers are gonna retcon it into a cover up for Lizzie. The anvils about her creepiness are just too heavy now.

Lesson of the day; you entrust me with end of life decisions you better make your wishes crystal clear cause I will pull that plug with no hesitation.
