Hi there, 2011. WELCOME.

Jan 01, 2011 01:35

A New Year is upon us. HAPPY NEW YEAR. :)

2010 was a pretty good one. It was a year of change and growth; a year of learning about myself and rediscovering the person that I am, and of remembering how to be true to myself. It was a year of finding awesome new friendship and redefining old ones; of changing family dynamics and some physical struggle; of joy and laughter and sometimes tears and of always, always embracing the lameness! Thank you, 2010, for treating me well.

I had set myself a writing goal of 200K at the beginning of the year. I believed then, and still believe now, that that is an absolutely attainable goal for me. I didn't come anywhere close, LOL, because life gets in the way and, let's face it, sometimes I'm a big ol' slacker. But I did end the year with 102,507 words written, of which 60,635 were actually posted. At least 25K of those remaining words were from two aborted Big Bang attempts (*sigh*), and I'm actually really really pleased with my final numbers. *pumps fist in air*

And 2010 was also the year of throwing myself headlong into the Live Free or Die Hard fandom and all the joy that brought, and I can't think of a better way to welcome 2011 than with a Bruce Willis and Justin Long picspam wheeeeeeee!

SAY YEAH, BABY.

Above: The first inkling we had of this new hacker that was going to be bothering seducing helping John McClane. Bruce showed up at the Dec 2006 premiere of "Balboa" with Mr. Justin Long in tow. Well, we'll let Justin tell it.

From contactmusic

BRUCE WILLIS' new DIE HARD sidekick bonded with the action man over boxing movie ROCKY BALBOA.

Actor Justin Long admits Willis was distant during the pair's first scenes together in Live Free or Die Hard but they became close after the movie superstar invited the youngster to join him at the cinema. Long says, "Bruce is a very cool, stoic kind of guy, He kind of keeps to himself. He's got his friends and he jokes with the crew, but he and I have very different energies and, for the first two months of the shoot, I thought he hated my guts.

"But then he invited me to the premiere of Rocky Balboa just randomly. "We'd go home every day and it would be like, `See ya Bruce.' `See ya later, kid,' and we just kind of went our separate ways. Then, one night, he was just like, `Hey, you wanna go see Rocky? I told my friend I would go.'

"His friend turned out to be Sylvester Stallone and we also ran into Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"It was an amazing night - Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Sly and me on the periphery, saying, `Excuse me, Bruce, do you want some popcorn? Did you say you wanted the Diet Coke or the regular Coke?' It was a very strange night."

(VERY DIFFERENT ENERGIES. I think that is Longspeak for "I'm the energizer bunny on speed.")

When the movie wrapped there were premieres and accompanying photocalls all over the place: New York, London, Berlin, and Tokyo. And Bruce and Justin seemed to be enjoying themselves at all of them...

Tokyo

Bruce entertains himself...

WHY I OUGHTA...

Justin: You SEE what I've gotta put up with? YOU SEE?
Bruce: Don't know what you're talking about, kid.
Maggie: *tries her best to look oblivous*

Bruce keeping his hands behind his back in an attempt to curb their wandering impulses and doing his best to look innocent. Justin taking a rather, erm, protective stance. Maggie saying a little prayer that the boys behave themselves tonight.

LALALA STILL INNOCENT

Or maybe not so much. Bruce's hand has gone a-wandering and Justin is doing the squirmy dance. HEH. Maggie's still trying to look oblivious.

New York

Awwww, they coordinated their outfits. Bruce tries to show his appreciation by keeping his hands to himself.

Well, nice try. Bruce is looking devilish, and we can't see his hands. ;) Justin just looks stunned. Mary-Elizabeth doesn't even try for oblivious. Hell, she's going for adorable here. (And succeeding.)

Is Justin warning a particular someone? LOL

Berlin

SUCCESS. And look how morose Justin looks. Awww, Justin, sometimes what you THINK you want isn't what you want at all.

And the promo appearances...
At the MTV TRL Show, June 25 2007

It looks like Bruce does occasionally have to warn Justin, too. :D

I love this one, coz it looks like Bruce is doin' the Watusi! Justin is all, "What's the Watusi?"

And at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards

Hanging out backstage, probably after the show judging by Justin's hair. We can't judge by Bruce's. :D

Some laughs onstage...

Justin: I love you, man.
Bruce: As you should, kid. As you should.

Well, THAT was fun, HEEEE. If I can't be on Parrot Cay with Bruce (and omg EMMA. and, inexplicably, Zac Efron) or wherever-the-hell Justin is, at least I can ring in the New Year with 'em like this. See what I mean about embracing the lameness, people? *dances off into 2011*

*smooches*
