The Ethan arc in S3. I know, I KNOW. I'm as surprised as you are.
There are times when Justin and Brian are together and happy, supporting each other, and you'd think I'd pick one of those times. But noooo. The Ethan arc absolutely TORTURED me. BUT watching Brian mope, then go about systemicatically ingratiating himself into every aspect of Justin's life? Like I said in a comment, "don't ever chase someone" MY ASS. Oh BRIAN.
I spent much of that arc annoyed at Ethan for being an arrogant self-absorbed douchenozzle, angry at Justin for clearly not following his heart and not seeing Ethan for the arrogant self-absorbed douchenozzle he clearly was, and wanting to hug Brian. When Brian gave his "blond boy ass" speech that was so *studiously* mean, I FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT and went frantically searching for reassurance (found it finally, I believe on Ardra's board or Refugee, where someone posted that 'maybe it was foreshadowing that Brian would later have to make his own sacrifice' -- later I realized that the comment came from a total spoilerwhore who KNEW that was exactly what was going to happen, but it was worded vaguely enough that I didn't clue in and it let me breathe easier again, LOL). And of course the arc ended with Brian and Justin's reunion -- so beautifully filmed and that song and Justin smiling and Brian not wanting to stop kissing him and and and *happy sigh*.
