I've started
autumnwrite! The challenge, once again, is to write at least 1230 words a day for 4 months, for a total of 150,000 words. Eeek. I haven't written consistently all year (a few drabbles and one ficlet is all I've managed) and it was certainly a challenge yesterday to sit down and focus. It took me FOREVER to crank out this first chapter.
I'm about to start posting the first chapter of a 12 part series called "Measure of a Man". Each chapter will correspond to the song titles from Clay Aiken's CD of the same name. I'm doing this because it's easier for me to write when I have a prompt of some kind, especially when I'm just getting back into it, have a daily word count goal, and have started a series. At this point I would like to say EEEK again. :)
The story is based on a rather detailed prompt from
peggin, who won a story from me EONS ago at Sweet Charity. I'm so very sorry that I've been unable to honour your request until now,
peggin. I hope that you like this and that I do your prompt justice.
Like Nanowrimo, all chapters are unbetaed and written on the fly. I discovered with Nano that I am much more motivated to keep working on something when I know the previous parts are up there and people are expecting an ending. :D
Once I've finished this, I'll still have months of writing to do. I hope I'll be able to complete all my unfinished fic tables from various comms that I've signed up for and never managed to conquer. :)
All righty, I think that's it. The first chapter of Measure of a Man will be up in a sec.
