Mom
My mother passed away yesterday at 2:03pm.
She was an incredible woman. She raised me alone after my father died when I was only 7. She was strong, independent, and always willing to listen to me ramble about whatever struck me. We used to talk on the phone for hours. She held a big Christmas party every year when I was younger and our house was always filled to the rafters with people. She had water fights in the summer just like a little kid -- I remember buckets of water being thrown threw the kitchen window if she was determined to get somebody who was "hiding" inside the house! She loved to travel and once I was old enough to leave home, she scrimped and saved what little money she had coming in every month until she had enough to go on holiday. She loved Las Vegas and Hawaii. When she was 67, she went to Costa Rica with my eldest sister. She was the oldest person they'd ever had go white water rafting -- and when the adventure was over, everyone gave her a standing ovation.
