Time flies...
Wow, has it really been 4 days since I last updated? I have a teensy small chapter almost ready to go, but it's been difficult to write this week. I hate to be all blah-blah-I'm-sick-blah because it seems like I'm always saying that and honestly, how annoying is that, but blah, I'm sick. I hate constant colds and I hate my sinuses. HATE. And I hate my doctors office for their phone being CONSTANTLY BUSY. And I hate my work for having NO HEAT on the night that it goes down to -15C. And I hate my boss for coming in the following morning and saying "oh, the furnace is fixed" when I am so cold that I am literally seconds from bursting into tears. Argh.
Meanwhile.
shadownyc, pepino21786, and catkcrl, I hope you are set for a fabulous time seeing Randy in New York. That sound you hear is qafcomments and I in the corner, weeping uncontrollably. (And many apologies that I haven't written any of you back.)

We had the nursing home Christmas Bazaar last weekend. CRAZY BUSY. We raised about $600 though, so it was well worth it. Between that, pricing for it, working at the "store" we run once a week, visiting mom (I went down after work this morning, made today "pampering day", so I did her nails; twas a good thing I stopped by because she almost cried and said she'd been feeling lonely), shopping for the "store", the sinuses from hell, work, writing, and occasionally sleep (LOL) it's been VERY busy. Tomorrow my sis and I are taking mom shopping for tops that she desperately needs, and then for dinner. :)
And GALE ON GREY'S ANATOMY OMG OMG OMG.
I've never watched the show before so going in I didn't know who anyone was except Sandra Oh, that one of them is called "McDreamy" (and he is SO NOT ATTRACTIVE), one of them is Izzie who used to be another Isabel on Roswell and one of them is the gay guy named T? Knight. So.
I found myself actively disliking most of the characters. All of the men came off as annoying and full of themselves except for the head doctor (and T? gets a pass because he was barely in the show.) I called my niece Krystle immediately after the show ended so that we could discuss Gale Hotness and she tells me the plastic surgeon is called "McSteamy". HOW ARE THESE MEN CONSIDERED HOT? I contend that if they were nobodies they would not get a second look on the street.
Having said that, I strangely enough enjoyed the show. When it left the boring romance plots of the main cast and dealt with the patients, I thought it was good. Even though it IS manipulative, I totally knew I was being led by the nose and I'm not at all embarrassed by that little cry I had when Stan's wife broke down outside the ambulance. (Though honestly, the singing was just waaaaay over the top and made me roll my eyes. A lot.) The final moments of the ep re: Seth Green (OMG YAY OZ!) were telegraphed from his first second onscreen but I still flinched and went "ew" and was really grossed out. So yeah, lead me by the nose and sometimes I like it. ;)
So anyway. GALE. I was one of those who saw the clip and thought he was a leeeetle wooden. But upon seeing the show... I think he did a GREAT job. He does pain very well, both physical and internal, and I think he did a really good job of portraying that he was a man in conflict. VERY interested to see where this goes.
The way I judged Gale's performance was how it fit in the show overall. Coz I found this show -- like almost ALL of them on TV -- everyone seems... I dunno... too loud? It's almost overacting, but not quite. And it seems to be the standard for all these shows that are popular. I found it the same on Law and Order: SVU when I watched one ep of that (to see Gale.)
I liked Bailey. She was cool. And I liked the doctor by the ambulance -- Meredith? And Izzie, but only when she focused on bedside manner stuff. She needs to realize that that is her skill.
GALE TUMMY. I kind of did a little Emmett-clap in my chair. I am so shallow.
And I would like to go on record as saying that I LOVE Gale's hair.
I want to do a Holiday Wishlist post. Hopefully I will have time to do that tomorrow after shopping. *nods* Isn't anybody else going to do Holiday Wishlist this year????
