Reality TV and Reality-ish Sims. OMG SIMS.

I had plans to do tons of stuff this weekend. Instead, I made rice with this flavouring packet and my best guess is that I am allergic to something in it, because I spent a lot of the next 24 hours between the bathroom and the bed. And killer migraine. Grrrr. I'm better today... just in time for work. Oh yay.

Good-bye Danny and Oswald.

They are the team that I was really rooting for from the beginning, because they were just always even-tempered and funny and fabulous. So I figured I'd be really bummed when they left. However, the last few weeks they've honestly looked like they want to leave. They looked exhausted all the time. They made bad navigational errors and bad decisions on tasks. They looked like the fun had gone out of it for them. And if the fun is gone... well, then it was time for them to leave.

I've really enjoyed the last two episodes though. Last week with the sale of a yield, which was frankly good racing on everyone's part. Danny and Ozzy didn't have a choice, they'd have been eliminated otherwise, and the Beauty Queens decision in choosing Danielle and Eric to yield (again) was based on their skill as racers and not animosity. I do understand Oswald's lingering 'karma guilt' as well. They had no choice, but it was still kind of a rotten thing to do -- NOT because the yield is wrong (as one of the BQ's said, it's "a tool to be used in the race", and it's no different than a Fast Forward in that regard, and using a Yield is not being scummy or a dirty racer or cheating) but *selling* the yield was the crummy part.

This week, that GPS task was awesome. I absolutely detested "orienteering" in school and if it was me, I would still be wandering around in that field. I only wish that the racers only got one do-over, coz seriously how many times did Charla muck up her GPS screen and need it reset? They should have just let her wander around out there because it was her own stupidity that fucked it up, over and over and over...

I wonder if next week is a two-hour finale? Seems like a lot of tasks shown in the previews to fit into an hour. I also don't like that snippet of the BQ's arguing... gives me a baaaad feeling about the final leg.

OMG SIMS.

Okay, so today I made my own characters. Except I discovered later that I did it kind of wrong. But that's okay coz they are still my practice Sims. Anyway, they are Kyle and Martin. :)

So they held a party. Which was rated a "disaster". Hmph. They talked and danced with their party guests! They served jello! Jeez, that's at least a "minor success" in my book. Jello! ;)

Then Kyle got a job as a mascot, and Martin got a job working in a campaign office. While at work, he got a call from a reporter and I had him answer the reporters questions himself. So the reporter printed an expose and, um, I got Martin fired. He cried. And wouldn't let Kyle hug him. And then Kyle had to go to work. (His last thought before getting in the carpool was of Martin. Awww.) And then Martin refused to look for another job. So his fun meter was at, like, 1. But his hunger meter was also low. So I sent him to the kitchen for some food. And he kept turning around and shaking his fists and screaming at me, and his little thought bubble was showing things like a TV and an art pallet. So I thought, okay, he wants a hobby. So I bought him something to do, even though they can't afford it because HE LOST HIS JOB and REFUSES TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER. And then, when I sent him to his bookcase, he SHOOK HIS FISTS AND SCREAMED AT ME. So then I tried the food again - FISTS. SCREAMS. OMG MARTIN WHAT DO YOU WANT? It took me soooo long (because I am lame) to figure out to turn the damn radio on and let him dance. And finally his fun meter went up. Whew!

So in the meantime, while I'm playing with Martin, I hear Kyle's carpool pull up out front. I ignore it because I'm dealing with Martin's temper tantrum. After a few minutes, I realize Kyle hasn't come inside. So I go to check on him, and he's PASSED OUT FROM EXHAUSTION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, IN HIS MASCOT OUTFIT. I seriously laughed out loud for a full minute. It was just hilarious.

My boys also woo-hoo-ed several times. The first time, there were close-ups and angled shots and porn music. HEE! Other times, there were fireworks. It's awesome. However, they refuse to shower together. And I totally need tamalinn to help me with the un-pixelation and Sims-dicks. :p

In conclusion, I love Sims.

games: the sims, tv: amazing race
