American Idol Top 6

I am sitting in my living room with my computer. This is so awesome. *snuggles Sabrina the notebook*

Um, Hi, BONO IS THE FREAKIN' MENTOR THIS WEEK. I was a huuuuuuge U2 fan from, like, 1980 to 1987. This is cool. (edit: And now the first two contestants have been on, and no mentor shots or comments. WTF, Idol?)

Okay, so it's the Idol Gives Back episode, where ten cents from each vote this week goes to aid against poverty in both the USA and Africa.

Chris Richardson sings "Change The World" - Um. Chris is wearing a nice jacket/tie/shirt combo... and cargo pants with sneakers. I think I hate Chris. That sounded completely goat-y to me. Also, could those runs he adds on the end of each line be any more annoying? Ick. Aaaaand he's flat. And then, Simon tells him that it was good. It was just as nasally as last week! I think I need Chris to go home.

Melinda Doolittle sings "There Will Come A Day" - So normally it's like 'yeah yeah Melinda was good but whatever'. I think this was 'no no too low not really good but high praise again whatever'. Seriously, I thought that was way too low for her. And it was even more boring than she usually is. Maybe I need Melinda to go home.

Blake Lewis sings "Imagine" - Blake looks ridiculously adorable tonight. Vocally it sounded okay to me; it's a hard song to showboat to because it is supposed to be very subtle and wistful, and I think the vocal showed that. Performance wise... I dunno. There is something a bit weird about Blake the last few weeks, and I can't put my finger on it. It's like he makes these big sincere faces and doesn't blink. It's distracting.

Lakisha Jones sings "I Believe" - Ouch, those first two lines sounded completely off-key to me. But she totally brings it home in the faster verse and the chorus. Kind of a boring song itself, but I think she did really good with it.

Phil Stacey sings "The Change" - Um. Hmm. My eyes glazed over, but the vocal sounded, well, bland and boring but in-tune and stuff. He's just so booooooring. Move around the stage like you did last week, damnit.

Jordin Sparks sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" - I really thought a lot of that was bad. The beginning was very boring and the 'you'll never walk alone' glory note parts sounded very shout-y to me. She lost the note at the end. What a disappointment.

This whole show was sooooo freakin' boring. I want this hour of my life back. I think it was the combination of the "inspirational" songs, and the constant "YOU CAN SAVE LIVES" and the fact that this is more telethon than entertainment. I MISS SANJAYA. You can bet my eyes wouldn't have been glazing over when he was on. Hmph.

My Predictions
Should Be Bottom Three: Chris, Lakisha, Phil
Will Be Bottom Three:Blake, Lakisha, Jordin
Should Go Home: Chris
Will Go Home: Lakisha
