The Amazing Race
Computer still working yay! I was supposed to go get my x-rays done today, then pick up stuff mom needs and go visit with her... but it is storming like mad outside, and I got completely soaked to the skin on my 8-minute walk home from work. Plus, I've been up for 20 hours. So yeah, I'm skipping that, attempting to get warm in my big fluffy robe, then going to bed.
All in all, a pretty boring episode. The limited flight options split the teams waaaay too much -- Charla and Mirna would have been a full day ahead of the second team had they not claimed that "a storm was coming" (riiiight) and delayed them, so that Danny and Oswald ended up on the same dhow as them. There was no anticipation because of the wide margin between the teams.
As usual my favourite moments involve Danny and Oswald. I loved Oswald pretending to "pick up" Danny on the park bench, and Charla/Mirna's complete cluelessness when he told them that he and Danny "were working this bench". And I loved that Danny and Oswald stopped their car to go shopping for fruit on the way to the pit stop!! They knew they were among the first two teams, and put their well being and need for some rest and food ahead of actually coming in first on the mat. I love their philosophy on this race -- they want to enjoy it first, and win second.
Next week - a two hour episode! Hopefully planned to get the teams bunched up a bit again.
