Celebrity Duets

Lucy Lawless sang "I Say A Little Prayer For You" with Dionne Warwick: The music overwhelms her because her voice just isn't that good. She comes across as very bland and boring to me. Pretty dress, though.

Alfonso Ribiero sang (something) with Deniece Williams: Started out weak, ended strong. Much like his singing partner. I agree with David Foster about the whining about being sick. It just makes you sound like you're pre-excusing a bad performance.

Carly Patterson sang "Beautiful" (?) with Jesse McCartney: She IS getting better, and the songs are more suited to her weaker voice. Who the hell is Jesse McCartney?

Hal Sparks sang "Come Sail Away" with Dennis DeYoung: HAL, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP WEARING LITTLE VESTS AND WALLET CHAINS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY. Whew, I feel better. Hal does not take constructive criticism well. I find it amusing that he is all "that's what rock and roll is *devil sign* *bangs head* yeah!" whenever the judges tell him how to improve. I continue to say that he is the Chris Daughtry of Celebrity Duets. Except Chris sings better.

Cheech Marin sang (something) with Aaron Neville: Even though Cheech's part of this song didn't give him much to do, he still managed to be completely out of his league.

Jai Rodriguez sang "Tell It To My Heart" with Taylor Dayne: I sooo love her voice! I couldn't help contrasting Jai's attitude with Hal's. I'm not sure how David Foster considers this performance a "miss", because even though the song was not necessarily suited to his voice, Jai really pulled it off. And I loved the way Jai connected with Taylor - he connects well with everyone he duets with. I was grinning wildly all the way through this. Go Jai!

My prediction: Bye bye, Cheech.
