There should have been a full moon last night...
... because people are clearly insane. Here be proof.
1. My fellow Canadians elect a Conservative government. At least it's a minority government, or I might have to shoot someone.
2. Three separate drivers have hissy fits at my window. When Driver A moves Driver B's taxi plate onto another car, Driver B then moves Driver C's plate in some sort of kindergarten-level 'revenge'. It was Find Your Missing Plate day and I didn't get the memo. On the plus side, I did not lose my cool with any drivers, because I rock.
3. I got a simple filling at the dentist and then spent all day with a headache and massive pain in the right side of my mouth. The dentist tells me that the laser thingy she was using can cause "contamination". Um.
4. My supervisor tells me that the owner received a complaint about me: supposedly I hung up on a customer after he tried to hit on me, and when he called back I told him "if you'd been nicer to me you would have got your car right away." Again with the Um. While me hanging up on a customer who hits on me is not outside the realm of possibility -- I have definitely hung on when someone says some permutation of, "Hey, you sound hot, why don't you come over and suck my dick" -- said customer would probably not then get a "hey, be nice" response on the second call. Also, since I moved to afternoons/nights 4 years ago, a customer hits on me on average of 3 times a week -- if I hung up on all of them we would not have any business left.
*sigh*
Strangely, I still had a good night at work. I love working with Amy. I got several compliments on the phone about how cheery I sounded. (Of course, the ones that compliment never call the owner, now do they?) A co-worker told me I was "perky" (actually, I think it was something along the lines of "oh my god, you are so goddamned perky you make me sick" but I'll take what I can get.) So, you know, at least I generally did not let the suckiness get to me. Go me.
