Continued from Here and Here“Ah!” Swaying the car from the left to the right, I give Kennedy a pained look. “Less with the shouting Ken,” I grumble, fighting to get the car under control again. Geeze! Heart attack giving much? Just a general pointing would so have worked. Not like I was driving very fast. Not in this car. Why did Giles have to get ( Read more... )

“We will not disturb Willow in any way while she’s driving a car,” I said, ending that discussion before it could go any further. Willow and cars? Not a good combination. Especially not she’s driving the gear shift car. Good lord, I hope she’s still in once piece. Or the rest of the Cleveland traffic. Perhaps I should have rented an automatic just for her, come to think of it ( ... )

"I don't remember Will driving so badly," I remark, watching the car swerve up the street. It might've been exaggerated, but... geez. I mean, she drove to LA to help out Angel that one time and came back with Faith and I know Faith didn't drive. So why's she all driving-weirdy now?

Oh no. "Giles, you didn't rent one of those weird old-fashioned cars with the weird stick that no one can figure out?" Of course. Of course he did. He doesn't know how to use a cell phone, of course he'd rent an ancient-type car that no one else knows how to drive. Is he, like, getting back at us?

I roll my eyes and turn to look at Willow, grinning. And notice Kennedy getting out of the car. Okay, didn't know she was coming too... whatever. That's cool. As long as we figure out the ghost thing, it can be any kind of party.

"Hey, Will, you ready to check out the house?"

Great, my wonderful plan is shut down. Not even taken into a bit of consideration. "Man, G-man you really no how to spoil a-" But before I could finish the sentence I jumped back as a car swerved and almost rammed into Giles. "G...iles!" I yelled as I jumped back. But alas, he was okay and the culpirit revealed herself.

"Will! You know you can't drive a stick in or out of the bedroom anymore." Too far? I think I went too far. I might have made toom much of a funny.

"What I meant to say is...sticks in lead. You can't get the sticks..into a tube of...pipe of..." I gave up. Really no point in taking back way too much said, especially if lil Dawnie is standing right there. So what did I do? Shut my mouth. It seemed to me the smartest thing. For now.

"Oh, yes. The house! It might be haunted. The house, of course!" Maybe I was a little too quick to change subjects.

"More about the house." There, I was done. We just needed to get off of sticks altogether and on to poltergeists. Friendly ones of course. I hoped.

I see them as she see’s them. I bet my girl was thinking the same thing how nice these houses where here. Shame that one of them has to be haunted. I wanted to shout at her to watch out as she continued driving all crazy towards them but I knew she’d have it under control..at least I think I knew that ( ... )

"Ready and...." I start and then blink at Xander. My eyebrows rise as I shake my head. "Maybe this would be a good time for you to, you know, not talk, Xan," I point out friendly. Geeze! That's almost as bad as 'doing spells' thing he used on me and Tara. Sometimes I wonder about him. No, seriously.

Right, ready and able. Okay, ready. I'll just have to wait and see about the able part. Probably. I mean, how much trouble can one teensy weensy ghost be? Big house though. "Nice house," I mutter staring up at the thing. And up, and up and.. Up. Yeah, more then enough room for all of us here.

And then some!

Just as I'm about to walk into the house, Kennedy puts her hand on my shoulder. I give her a smile, wondering if I ever was like this with Tara. It's adorable. In a slightly smothering kinda way. I'm thinking she and I so need to have a talk soon...ish. Soon! Soon, really. "Why don't we go find out kay?" I glanced over at Giles, waiting for signal. Or whatever. Huh. Funny how old habits don't die isn't it?

Well, at least the cavalry has arrived, even though she nearly ran me off the curb. Giving Dawn a disapproving look when she starts about the car, I sniff. "There's nothing wrong with those cars. Just as there is nothing wrong with books instead of this internet." And that's that.

Youth today. Really.

"When we are all talked out?" I asked, giving Xander a pointed look. When will that boy ever learn? When I'm in my grave no doubt. I'd happily crawl out just to see that moment. Shaking my head I sigh and then nod at Kennedy when she tells, or it's more of a promise, me that she'll drive home. I hope she can drive a shift car.

"Good, lets set to work then...errr...." Frowning up at the house, I turn back to the others. I doubt it's really needed for all of us to go in there is it? "Why don't Willow and I take care of it and uhm...you three wait here?"

"Yeah, no, books are great," I nod at Giles. Really. I love books. I like reading. I like research. I like the musty library smell... but I also like the internet! The trick is balancing the media. Giles isn't so down with the balancing. It needs work.

I glance at Kennedy briefly when she brags about Willow. Yeah, we know, we've been around a lot longer... whatever. It doesn't matter. They love each other... but it still bothers me a little. It's not that I don't like Kennedy. I do. It's just that... she's not Tara.

I take a step towards the house but stop when Giles opens his mouth. Stay outside, huh? "Yeah, right." I cross my arms and glare at Giles. "I am so not waiting out here. I wanna see what Willow does with the ghost. Research, okay?" Not sure just how research-y it's gonna be but I am so not waiting outside!

Wanting not to be challenged by the elder watcher I held Dawn back and smiled. "We can wait here." As awkward as it would be with Kennedy but...waiting is waiting. Besides I had no desire to continue the awkward that was my 'stick' comment. I smiled and just let them walk into the building. Letting go of Dawn I glanced towards Kennedy and almost half-smiled ( ... )
