The screen of my phone reads 'Willow Rosenberg' and then the number. Glancing at Giles, who was frowning, 'cause Xander was still missing, I shrugged and pushed the 'call' button

Kennedy had left after our little talk. Not that this got us like anywhere, but duty calls and... stuff. I guess. I dunno where she rushed off to. But as it was, I stayed behind at the hotel. Being bored out of my mind. I'd been doing levitations spells just to have something to do. If Giles would see me, I'd get a lecture of a lifetime for sure
( ... )
Ah yes, calling Willow seems like the sensible thing to do. She was after all an experienced witch. If she wouldn’t use those powers for silly frivolities like levitating pencils or the likes. She had this knack for doing that anyway. Perhaps she and I should have a talk.
I started to pace the floor while I listened to Dawn ramble on the phone. I swear, those girls have a language of their own. They talk so fast, I’m surprised anyone can keep up. I certainly can’t, no matter how hard I tried. Buffy and Willow are just as bad. It’s only a matter of time before Kennedy and Faith join in.
Glancing out the window, I stretched a bit in the hope to see Xander. Still no sight of the boy. Where in the devils name did he run off to? There’s not some fast food place near by he’s been mysteriously lured at is it? “Will she be here?” I asked over my shoulder.
"That's where he said he went," I tell her, rolling my eyes although I know she can't see me. "Alright, Wil. Hurry up, Giles is about to lose it over here." We say goodbye and I snap the phone closed, then look at Giles.
"She says she'll be right over and that I should keep you calm," I inform him, watching him pace back and forth. "So, um... should we go outside or something? See if Xander's out there, and then when Wil gets here, we can meet her?"
Eh, it's just a suggestion. But I think we should get some air before Giles does the big wigging.
“Okay dokay, Dawnie,” I nodded into the phone Suddenly realizing she couldn’t like, see it, I blushed and cleared my throat. “I’ll be right over.”
Clicking off the phone, I snatched up the keys to the rental car and quickly scribbled a not for Kennedy, so she’d know where to find me if she got back. I felt silly drawing a few hearts underneath my name, but that grin wouldn’t just go away. I’d missed this. I’d missed feeling as though I belonged with someone.
Grabbing my coat, I jogged out of the hotel and over to the car. Now, lets see what Cleveland traffic is like. Considering I’m used to Sunnydale and occasionally risked going into frightening LA, this should be a piece of cake! Right? Right. Like no problem at all. I slid into the car, started the engine and stared at the funny looking…pole… “….Uh….”
Listening to Dawn on the phone, I keep looking outside. No sign what so ever from Xander. “I am calm,” I grumble at her word. Why does she think I’m not calm, I wonder as I keep pacing around the kitchen. At least it would seem our ghost manifestation is occupying the upper floors of his house.
“What? Oh, yes. Going outside sounds like a good idea. Knowing Willow she might drive right past.” Swiping off my glasses, I start to clean them needlessly as I walk toward the door. Holding it open for Dawn, I step right after her and close the door behind him. I push my glasses up my nose, looking around for Xander.
“Where did that boy go of to?” I know he’s not a boy anymore. None of the children are exactly ‘children’ anymore, but it’s hard to see them as adults when they’ve been my children for so long. “Why don’t we go look around for him while we wait for Willow, she can’t be here that fast.” Unless she uses some spell, which would be not good at all.
"Yeah, no, we're all calm..." Actually, I'm getting a little nervous. I'm sure Xander's out back in the garden or something, or tucked away somewhere checking out the woodwork, but I can't help it. Too many weird things happen when people go missing, and when there's a haunted house, too...
I slip my phone into my back pocket and shove my hands into my pockets after it. The house is nice. Really nice. Just hope that it didn't eat Xander and that the ghost isn't all mean and evil. Nice ghosts do exist, but what's the chance of us getting one of the nice ones? Seriously.
"Um, maybe you can wait here while I check out the back? Or maybe you go and I wait?" I shrug. Whatever works, I don't care. Bobbing up and down on the balls of my feet, I look out at the road. "It's not that far from the hotel, right?" I wish Xander had a cell phone, I could've called him.
“Well, I think it’s about half an hour,” I shrug. Then again, this is Willow driving in a town she doesn’t really know. So it might actually take a little bit longer, or very long when she gets lost. Thankfully, she’ll have Dawns cell phone number if that happens. I just hope she wont be using any magic to …err…light her way.
“And we are absolutely not splitting up,” I said, peering over the rim of my glasses toward Dawn. Fist I loose Xander to where ever the bloody hell that boy wound up to. I’ll not be loosing Dawn as well. “Lord only knows what happened and where he went.” Or was taken. For al we know this ghost might not be as harmless as it seemed. Dear god, I hope I’m just being paranoid.
“Why don’t we both go around the house and see if we can find him while we wait for Willow to arrive.”
I guess I had lost track of time behind the house because next thing I know, I realize it's later. I just was admiring the architecture alot. This place was built really well and I really wished that I could've built something like this. And now, to get the chance to live in it? Sighing, I turned back and realized how late it had gotten, at least since we had gotten here.
Well, that's a definite 'oops' moment. As I headed back round the house I finally spotted Dawn and Giles coming towards me, not really all that happy. "Oops." I said as they came towards me. "I uh...can explain." How to get me out of this one?
"There was a squirrel. And it chased another squirrel, and they fought, and then they ran." I said. Dawn and Giles just glared. "Fine. I...like the arcitecture. Maybe a little too much." I said scratching the back of my head sheepishly.
"So...what have you two been up to?" A change of subject is always appreciated.
"Alright, alright, fine." I throw up my hands at Giles and am about to start walking around the back when Xander comes out. I pause and just stare for a minute as he gives his lame excuse. At least he's not dead or inter-dimensioned or something.
"Ghost," I say in response, pointing to the house. "I mean, we've got a ghost. In the house. Willow's coming now to check it out."
Glancing back at Giles, I then take a step away from the house and look up at it. "But the architecture really is nice, isn't it?"
In the end, the boy found us rather then we found them. And right at the nick of time as well. If Willow would’ve gotten here and we’d still not found him, lord only knows what would’ve happened. I glared at him and his blasted squirrel excuse. Pulling off my glasses, I took few deep breaths, trying to calm down some what
( ... )
Oh God, he used my whole name. Where's the lightning? Why isn't God smiting...smoting me down? I frowned a bit and switched my gaze to Dawn. "Haunted? The arcitecture is haunted?" Leave it to me to be infatuated with haunted arcitecture. I muttered under my breath and kicked a rock like I was six again. "Why am I always the one lured to haunted arcitecture!?"
Oh no, now what's wrong. "Do you think it infected me, or possessed me...what does haunted arcitecture do?"
And then the panic subsides...embarrasment sets in. "Oh...ghost. Okay well...the arcitecture is still real nice."
I hope. It better not be evil. Only I will be seduced by evil buildings. I couldn't blame em, I have been with my share of demons...as Giles sums it up, a 'demon magnet.' And now a demonic building magnet. It's good because now I can add yet another to my little black book.
"Maybe," I shrug. "Okay, well, probably not, but there's definitely a ghost in that house." I doubt it posessed Xander, though, he just wants to use that as an excuse for losing track of time.
"But, hey, it's alright," I try to cheer him up. "We're all lured to the haunted architecture. We're hoping that, like, the ghost won't be evil or anything, like Cordy's ghost in LA, you know?" Oh, god, I probably shouldn't be mentioning Cordy to Xander, even if he's pretty much over her and stuff.
"And if it's a good ghost, then we can leave it, 'cause like I said, it adds character, having your very own personal house ghost." I grin. Won't the Slayerettes love that.
The boy has gone mad. Rolling my eyes, I stare at him for some time. Why would he think he’s possessed by the ghost we just mentioned? Such a strange boy. Luckily I don’t need to say anything, Dawn has that firm in had. Good, saves me the trouble. I’m still quite angry at Alexander Harris. For all we know he could’ve been possessed by god only knows what

Being brought up to date felt good. Because when I was clueless it really wasn't fun. Giles definitely rolled his eyes at me. You know, in his old age he'd gotten much more sarcastic.
Dawn then went into her idea of the friendly ghost like Cordelia had. "That's be interesting." I said as I listened to Giles. "What, a book case fell?" Dawn was almost hurt? No ghost who toppled book cases were good ghosts.
"No. No nice mansion for us. Not with falling book cases."
I roll my eyes. "Yeah, a bookcase fell. But, you know, I don't think ghosts like being dissed, so we should be nice to it. Unless it's evil, in which case, we gotta exorcise it."
Speaking of exorcisms... we can't really do it on our own. Well, we can, but we'd have to observe the ghost and study it and look stuff up in books and we don't really have time for that. We need to buy a house and soon, hotel rooms are expensive for so many people and besides, I kinda want a home. And I think others might too. Which is why we need Willow.
I start shifting my weight from foot to foot, glancing out towards the road. Where is she? This is taking forever. "We can't even do such a normal thing as house-shopping without needing metaphysical assistance," I mutter, then dig out my cell phone again. "Maybe I should call her back?"
“It may have done that on accident, Xander,” I pointed out, mostly because he was talking as though getting the house was his decision to make. That was so far from the truth, it stood out as a flag on a mud ship. I was the one who was going to pay for the blasted house. Alright, the council, but since I was the head of that council, it was my choice in the end

Because I had the final say in that.
