The Arctic Nights Affair by Rosemary
Pure PWP. But really really good. Like after reading so much fic in one go (like I had been doing) after awhile all the sex scenes get so samey. This one broke that cycle. The first "intimate" scene is fantastic with blending the emotional and sensual descriptions. The other scenes are good, too but she does on occassion use metaphors and imagery that border on the ridiculous that breaks up the flow (I swear there was one line i had to read five times, just to make sure I read it right), but those 2 or 3 moments can be foregiven when the rest of it makes up for them.
Finders Keepers by Taliesin
Taliesin is like the Queen of Muncle slash fic. Just go through her site, everything is brilliant. "Finders Keepers" though is THE BEST Man from UNCLE fic I read. It is perfection. It is funny, actiony, and just guh. The over-all plot is one I could see as an episode. Poor Napoleon is lost somewhere in Brooklyn, carrying sensitive matieral, and being chased by THRUSHies. Through the majority of the fic Napoleon and Illya only interact over the phone as Illya tries to find his lost partner, but keep on just missing each other. And of course once the caper is finally concluded Napoleon and Illya do something about the flirting that had been going on through the rest of the fic. And because it is Taliesin that is also very very good. God, I love this fic.
