I watched 2 movies tonight

First, was Priest with Paul Bettany and Karl Urban. ...That movie...happened. Grossly uninspired and boring. All it really made me wish was that Karl Urban was playing the vampire in the Fright Night movie instead. That. Would. Be. Awesome! But no, he's a vampire in this bleah fest, and we're stuck with Colin Ferrell cramping the Yelchin and Tenant style with his presence.

Thankfully, I had another movie to watch tonight! It's called Felony. It stars Jeffrey Combs, Lance Henriksen and Joe Don Baker. AND IT WAS AWESOME! OMG watching this movie was so much fun. You can hardly keep track with who's back-stabbing who. The action sequences are ridiculous. I mean, THREE TIMES, they have it that a driver of a car gets shot so that the car ends up flipping over. Twice, the car then exploded. There were other car explosions as well. The competency of the good guys and/or the bad-guys with firearms is completely dependent on plot needs. There is a little bit of a twist ending, that actually does make some things I was going "Oh, really???" at actually make sense then. Joe Don Baker is BAMF in this and hilarious.

Poor little Jeff Combs gets put through quite the wringer in this. Shot in the arm, and then the hand, jumps off a bridge, jumps through a couple windows, is in a couple of the aforementioned car-flips, oh and gets beaten with a tennis racket. But it's such a change of pace to his usual stuff, it was quite nice to see him in an actiony role.

oh! And David Warner's in it, too! Being a GQ mofo.

So. Uhm. Yeah. Corny, mid-90s action-thriller filled me with glee! It is exactly the kind of movie I needed to see after my rather stressful day at work.

Also, it's one of those movies where you can't trust the back of the DVD case. They try to make it seem like some guy named Leo Rossi is the star. He is not.

Bah. It's getting late. I'll have to wait until tomorrow, prolly after work before I can start capping it to share my joy on tumblr.
