It never fails. Whenever I think I'm giving myself enough time to make a couple "quick stops" before work, they are never quick. And it's nothing to do on my part, like I'm dawdling. No. It's always that I end up in an extremely slow check-out line, or it's the only check-out and some complication arises. Unfortunately that's even happened when I've come to work a few minutes early so I can get a cup of coffee and drink it from our coffee shop. I've dealt with the cashier being slow with the change/having complications with the register. And the most memorable when I wandered in for a cup, but the cashier was in some kind of panic and expected me to do something about something despite the fact that it was well before I was on shift nor was dealing with that kind of problem within my pervue. But seeing she was too upset to actual get me coffee, I left it undone.
Anyway, today I stopped for gas, stopped at Walgreens for coffee resupply (and a doubleshot!), then figured I had time to run into Jo-Ann's quick and finally pick up some felt to finally start on my Tron dolly. Unfortunately, there were ppl in front of me in line and a complication occurred at the register. I checked my phone and considered leaving all together... but I stuck it out, knowing that if I didn't get the damn stuff bought now it'd be another week or so before I bothered again.
Then I get the register with my small stack of black felt. "What's all this for?" The cashier asked. "A doll," I replied. "It's going to be a sad doll." ...given how I'm standing in front of her, head to toe in black with my black eye make-up, I can't imagine it was surprising I'd make dolls made completely in black. But I said, "No, not sad. It's like a black uniform."
Anyway, now I have no excuse not to work on a Tron plushy other than my own laziness. Maybe I'll work on it while watching
East of Eden.
