When a Movie Lives Up entirely to Expectations

Watching Robin Hood. Y'know, the one with Russell Crowe (and more importantly Mark Strong with a sexy mouth scar that's like half Joker scars).

It is boring and SO MUCH BULLSHIT. I really don't know which is more Bullshit, this or King ArthurAnd the shit? The Sheriff of Nottingham has nothing to do in this movie. He's had like three tiny scenes ( Read more... )

Ha! You just had to learn the hard way, didn't you?

In the future, try to resist the siren song of... um... Mark Strong's sexy mouth? I guess?

Yeah, I did. I never expected it to be good, especially since Gladiator is a load of Bull, too. But I get curious. And I didn't even know that Mark Strong's mouth was going to have sexy scarring beforehand!

*sigh* Can't believe they cast Matthew Macfadyen as Nottingham and gave him bugger all to do. SMH, Ridley Scott. Wish he'd stayed with his original idea and made the film about the Sheriff.

Think that this is more bullshit than King Arthur (but not by much), if only because Russell Crowe still has yet to impress me in a film that wasn't Master and Commander.

Generally, I'm not a Macfadyen fan. I find his performances and face rather boring. And for the first time even my mom was like, "Hey! He's acting!" And then we didn't get to see him much. It was so lame.

M&C only works because Crowe is Jack Aubrey.

Man, I have yet to watch it but the comparison to King Arthur (which is total bullshit apart from the guys looking cute xD) makes me have a bad feeling about this. Bur I like Russel quite a lot, so I'll go through with this. Also complaining how RoS is so much better is always fun. That's what I did during my recent Prince of Thieves rewatch and it was fun in a horrible way xD

But at least PoT is bad enough to be entertainingly so (and omfg I love how Rickman knows he's in a crap movie and camps to high heaven to make up for it). This Robin Hood isn't even interestingly bad.

But I did so love Matthew Macfadyen as the Sheriff. He got the characterisation exactly right. <3
