This is really distressing since I finally bought Different for Girls (which I do love, and is hard to get, even through Netflix) so that I can prove fandom wrong and that Lestrade does not have an abusive boyfriend, but a rather lovely post-op transexual girlfriend.

Because hearing that there is one more than one fic where someone decided to take the most intelligent and competent Lestrade and turn him into some kind of battered wife so that he may go seeking comfort in the arms of Sherlock and John just because he also happens to be the pretties Lestrade, makes me sick. Well, there's a lot I've been hearing about this fandom that makes me sick, but I am a frustrated, long-time Sherlockian, and I'll spare any more ranting since my RL friends already got an earful.
Now I shall go back to writing fic that actually bothers to reference canon in the same way the series does. I mean, OMG sooooo many people don't understand why that "Rache" turned out to be "Rachel" in "A Study in Pink" IS SO MUCH LULZ!
