Unit Cohesian

After the inane torture of last year's "training," I decided to pass, even if I would have been paid for the time. Sleeping in was terribly more important. Plus, I got some lovely snuggle-time in with Kitty. Yay!

Alas, some of my coworkers didn't have the ability to op-out. See, the library was closed until noon, so if you were scheduled to work in the morning, this is what your hours are for. For anyone who doesn't work in the morning, it was merely extra, see? There's at least six of us I know for sure absolutely hated it, too, and unfortunately got stuck going. One was smart enough to "forget" about the training and had scheduled a vet appointment for her cat this morning. Oooooops.

Then...heh heh. I was told that a reference librarian had been really mad about being there. Then she told me herself, she got so fed up with the time-wasting, money-wasting stupidity that she had acutally walked out of the "training!" Go girl!

Because those things are bullshit. Hopefully, our director will figure it out, and how discontent it's making so many people (team-building my ass, just making us more disgruntled!), so next year he doesn't try it again. There's got to be a better way to build cooperation and communication. Something that's maybe actually fun. Something we could do in the library instead of going to Blackhawk Tech.
