Not an entirely efficient system
Oh fuck.
so last night I broke out all over on my back. Thought maybe had some nasty buggies in the bedding? So moved to the futon, and that seemed to help. Well, other than only getting four hours of sleep. Cleaned room and washed bedding to hopefully eradicate buggies if indeed, that was the problem. I am beginning to question that now that I had moved on to nausea by noon. Desperately tried to not throw-up, but did.
Still feeling unwell after, called work around 3:00 to say "Hey, throwing-up, won't be coming in."
Now see, we have this new system where we call in and leave a message to say "OMG puking" or something like that. Now, according to the e-mail about the system someone is supposed to get back to us to say "we got your message and taking care of things."
Weeeeeell, even while leaving the message I wondered how often someone even checked that line. Over an hour later, still no word. So called the main number and asked if one of my supes were in. Well, one was, buyt busy at check-out (and prolly had been there for a while and not anywhere near the phone that the sick messages are received). The person I talked to (maybe Guy or Jennifer, couldn't be sure. Yes, Guy is a woman) said she'd talk to the supervisor, let her know that I tried a couple times to get in contact, and that I should be called back just so I knows SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO KNOW, KNOWS I WILL NOT BE IN DUE TO PUKING!
that was another hour ago, my shift starts in ten minutes. If I get call from someone saying "Where the fuck are you?" I will be quite put-out.
Going to try and drink some water, curl-up on the couch and watch some Pimpernel.
