Domesticity win
Yesterday sewed blue button eyes onto plush!Illya without even the benefit of a curved needle (the fabric store was out!). Before doing so though, I had to give him a bit of grooming. He had collected cat hair and awful lint in the past year or so. Thankfully, I discovered mother still does have the little electric lint-eater. Using it though made me feel like i was giving someone an awkwardly intimate shave. But I got him all clean and eyed just in time for watching USA's reruns of NCIS so I could snuggle him while watching.
Then today I made myself pancakes, and actually made edible pancakes! As opposed to the little black Frisbees I managed in my first attempt (I meant to just toss a burnt one outside for squirrels or birds to pick up from the snow, but instead it flew through the air, curved a bit, then landed in the pine tree).
I ate my pancakes while watching Cranford on DVD. Library copies, since i still don't own them. At least I finally got to watch the little making-of featurette. Greg Wise and Phil Glenister were the most adorable and dorky being all "Whee! costumes!" Simon Woods was also dorky, but less adorable and more embarrassing. Aaaaw, bonnets and corsets and waistcoats! huzzah!
and now coffee then shower.
